[ESP/ENG] Reflexiones y Aprendizajes: Mi Experiencia en mi culminación de mi Servicio Comunitario/ Reflections and Learnings: My Experience at the Culmination of My Community Service

Reflexionando un poco sobre esto, y cosa que dije en mi reflexión al frente de todos presente es que en mi caso a mi me hubiera gustado recibir este tipo de orientación e instrucción sobre estas carreras u otras de que escoger para estudiar, cuando me gradué de Bachiller fue en un punto tan fuerte de mi vida, la primera razon fue en pandemia y la segunda en ese momento por esa misma pandemia mi abuela que ha sido mi mayor pilar en la vida estaba hospitalizada por el Covid-19 y yo en ese momento yo no tenía la mayor idea de que iba a estudiar y lo que quería, que era psicología por esa situación de pandemia no se pudo, así que estaba nula al tener que escoger alguna carrera donde tuviera la posibilidades para poder estudiar, espero que estos chicos les llegue a interesar alguna de estas dos carreras o ya sea otra pero sigan con la intención de seguir estudiando y no hecharse para atrás a pesar de la difícil situación.

Hello my dear friends from Hive, to start my weekend, I will tell you about my previous day where I culminated my community service project, which was a vocational guidance directed at fifth-year high school students who are completing their secondary education about the careers offered at my University (UDO) in the extension of my town, which are: Public Accounting and Civil Engineering.

Every certain period we attended, we offered talks about the characteristics of each of these careers, what is studied in them, and recommendations on why they should be considered when choosing.

And yesterday the closing of this project took place, where we concluded with an analysis of both careers and a final message in a dynamic way. We shared our experiences and highlighted the importance of taking advantage of having a university close to our corner, with the latter being such a nationally and internationally recognized institution as the University of Oriente. But the most essential thing is to emphasize that, even if one does not choose either of these two careers, it is always fundamental to study, as education is the best gift one can receive. Being a professional is one of the greatest satisfactions in life, but, it is vital to be a humble professional, with education, values, and principles.

Reflecting a bit on this, and something I said in my reflection in front of everyone present is that in my case, I would have liked to receive this type of guidance and instruction about these careers or others to choose from when I graduated from high school; it was such a crucial point in my life. The first reason was during the pandemic, and the second during that moment due to the pandemic when my grandmother, who has been my greatest pillar in life, was hospitalized for Covid-19, and at that moment I had no idea what I was going to study and what I wanted was psychology, but due to the pandemic situation, that was not possible. I was at a loss trying to choose a career where I had the possibility to study. I hope these kids become interested in one of these two careers, or perhaps another, but continue with the intention of studying and not back down despite the difficult situation.

I deeply thank the institution for accepting us without any obstacles and always being there for us.
