Monomad: The Silent One
I caught a gold dust weevil in the bushes. It was clutching a mimosa plant stem tightly with its claws.
Its eyes were small, like dripping ink. It didn't move when I softly said, "Hey, Dude, what are you doing?"
I tried blowing on the beetle to make it move, but it still didn't budge. I guess it was shyness.
A short time later, it flapped its shield, flew away, and perched again on another weed stem. I followed it and asked softly again, "Hey, Dude, what are you doing? Are you waiting for someone?"
It still didn't answer me. I left, carrying unanswered questions with me.
