Monomad: Giant Robber Fly

It's really difficult to get robber flies to be shot in a nice spot. Maybe they don't like beautiful things. They prefer to sneak onto grass stalks or shrub twigs. They are probably aromantic; even females are like that. Their appearance is rough and cruel. Both males and females are known to be cold-blooded assassins.

But one time I saw this guy perched on a sweet clover flower. This was something that rarely happens.

I rushed to take photos. But really, I can only shoot from two angles.

He quickly flew away, but then he landed on a weed stem, and a moment later he jumped back on the grass stalk.

Yes, this guy was giving me trouble! He made me chase him.

However, of course, I'm not a man who gives up easily! I kept chasing him like a paparazzi. I got him!

All of the images here are my own work, taken with a Xiaomi POCO NFC smartphone and an assembled external macro lens.
