FungiFriday: Hairy Marasmiellus in Sumatra

Here I share some mushroom photos for the current #FungiFriday challenge.

These were taken in December last year in a forest located south of my town. Yes, I remember that December was the time when mushrooms were abundant in our area. So almost every afternoon, we went on a mushroom walk there and found lots of different species.

Among these mushroom species, there is the hairy Marasmiellus as you can see here.

The fruit body of the mushroom is soft yellow, covered with fine hairs from the cap to the stem. The base of the stalk is reddish, and mycelium can be seen there.

The fungus grows in small groups on rotten logs and normally survives for 2–3 days in humid temperatures.
