Caught in the drizzle: I'm not the only one

I remember that in December 2023, it rained frequently. And in that same month, I often take the time to go for an afternoon walk while taking pictures of decent things around the Lhok Gajah Reservoir in North Aceh.

So one afternoon I had to get caught in the drizzle when descending a small hill. There wasn't a single hut that I could use as shelter. Even though it was only drizzling, it was enough to make me wet.

I wasn't the only one caught in the drizzle. I noticed two jumpers who had already been caught in the heavy rain. Yes, drizzle is just for me. For them, it was heavy rain.

Both are two-striped jumpers (Telamonia sp.) with translucent bodies. Maybe one is male and the other is female.

I'm just guessing based on the shape of their abdomens: the first one has a small, pointed stomach (male characteristics), while the other one is rather fat and oval (female characteristics).

Luckily, the drizzle stopped a few moments later. I hope they quickly dry their bodies with a towel and don't catch a cold.

All these photos are my original work, taken with a Xiaomi POCO NFC smartphone and an assembled external macro lens.

fun to see the wet spiders. their bodies are clearly designed to be able to withstand the drizzle but i wonder how they mange when there is a real downpour
