Time is one of the most precious concepts we have in this life. It is always there in beginnings and endings. The past and the future are related to time. Man, who is a work of time, therefore attaches great importance to this concept. This is sometimes reflected in the environment and objects we live in.

Zaman bu hayatta sahip olduğumuz en değerli kavramlardan birisidir. Başlangıç ve bitişlerde hep o vardır. Geçmiş ve gelecek zamanla ilgilidir. Zamanın bir eseri olan insan o nedenle bu kavrama çok önem verir. Bu durum bazen yaşadığımız çevreye, eşyalara yansır.

I recently visited Silenos Cafe and found traces of the past. Many items, most of which belonged to my childhood, were skillfully used in the interior decor of the place. There were many antique items such as pay phones, radios and typewriters. As I looked at these, the sounds of a strange song from the past began to surround me softly.

Yakın zamanda gitmiş olduğum Silenos Cafe'de geçmiş zamanın izlerine rastladım. Çoğu çocukluğuma ait olan birçok eşya mekanın iç dekorunda ustaca kullanılmıştı. Ankesörlü telefonlar, radyo ve daktilo gibi birçok antika eşya vardı. Bunlara baktığımda geçmişten gelen tuhaf bir şarkının sesleri usulca etrafımı sarmaya başladı.

Here I felt relaxed, my mind had found an element of balance to escape from the chaos of the future. I couldn't help but feel nostalgic for the past, a time when technology only met our needs. Nothing more! As such, human emotions and communication were at the forefront.

Burada kendimi rahatlamış hissettim. Zihnim geleceğin karmaşaşından kurtulmak için bir denge unsuru bulmuştu. İster istemez geçmişe bir özlem duydum. O zamanlar, teknolojinin sadece ihtiyaçlarımıza cevap verdiği bir dönemdi. Daha fazlası değil! Hal böyle olunca insani duygular ve iletişim daha ön plandaydı.

I'm still not sure if I was following the past time or my own past! I think the two were intertwined. Instead of making these inquiries, I enjoyed the place that day. These thoughts come to mind when time passes.

Geçmiş zamanın mı izindeydim, kendi geçmişimin mi hala emin değilim! Sanırım ikisi iç içe geçmişti. Bu sorgulamaları yapmak yerine o gün oranın tadını çıkardım. Aradan zaman geçince akla bu düşünceler geliyor.

The cafe was remarkable with its menu as well as its design. The hot and cold drinks list was quite extensive. The grill and pan dishes were not bad either. When I went to this cafe, I was skeptical about whether I would be full or not. But after eating the delicious chicken with curry sauce, I quickly got rid of my misconception :)

Cafe tasarımının yanısıra menüsü ile de dikkat çekiciydi. Sıcak ve soğuk içecek listesi oldukça genişti. Izgara ve tava yemekleri de fena değildi. Bu cafeye gittiğimde karnımın doyup doymayacağı konusunda şüphelerim vardı. Ama nefis köri soslu tavuğu yiyince içine düştüğüm yanılgıdan çabuk kurtuldum :)

After spending enough time at Cafe Silenos, I left with the desire to come back here again. Places that manage to give you that desire are rare. Places that only boast of their wide range of food and drinks are not enough to make you want to come back. People tend to like foreign places where they find something of themselves.

Cafe Silenos'ta yeterince zaman geçirdikten sonra buraya bir daha gelme isteğiyle oradan ayrıldım. Bu isteği size vermeyi başaran mekanlar nadir bulunur. Sadece yiyecek ve içecek yelpazesinin genişliği ile övünen yerler bu isteği uyandırmakta yetersiz kalıyor. İnsanlar yabancı yerlere gittiklerin kendilerinden bir şeyler buldukları yerleri sevme eğilimindeler.
