It becomes my routine to go out to the balcony with the new camera and observe plants thoroughly in Sunday morning. I really like this routine.

Strawberry plant get more and more productive and they gave us seven strawberries on some day. My daughter is happy to pick them in the morning and evening.

I'm glad that I planted 12 young strawberry plants this spring. I quickly thought it could be crazy and keep the number half or less. But I felt like trying as strawberries are connection between my daughter and my mother who past away this spring. And I had a lot of plants with her. She may be sending power to the strawberry plants 🍓

Next to the strawberries, some of the fava bean pods are ready to be harvested.

I also have a good old memory with fava beans. I helped my mother to take out beans from pods. My daughter does it since she was two ... or one year old even. I look forward to harvest the fava beans today.

Other than vegetables, I'm growing flowers for the community garden. Mini Sunflowers and Lupine. I might be able to directly sow the seeds but I'm afraid that they are lost or removed by mistake.

I knew Lupine but I like them more from a book titled "Miss Rumphius". An owner of kids book store was recommending the book. I read it many times with my daughter. I must read the book again 😊

Last but not least, or I must say super important for me as a tomato fan, one of the two tomato plants in my balcony finally have flower buds 🍅 🥳

Since I was busy in the end of winter to the beginning of the spring this year, I wasn't well prepared for tomato plants. Luckily wild mini tomato "Wild Argentina" I started from seeds for our balcony made it. It is an easy going variety and makes fruits really quickly, which means it fits to our balcony with tomato hungry mama and daughter 😁

That's it about my balcony garden. I will write about the progress of the community garden separately as I might get talkative.

昨日は久しぶりのマーケットで体力を使い果たして8時に寝たので4時半に起きました。おばあちゃん 😂

毎朝早起きしてはバルコニーに出て植物を眺めるのですが、日曜日はHive Blogに庭のアップデートを投稿したいのもあって、ゆっくりカメラを持って出て、植物を入念に観察します。すっかり毎週のルーティンになったこの活動をとても気に入っています。

いちごは日々どんどん実を赤くしていっていて、7ついっぺんに採れた日もありました。子供がちょろちょろバルコニーに出ては食べているので実はもっと採れているのかも w

子供がいちごを採って楽しそうに食べているのを見ると植えてよかったなと思います。12個も苗を植えるのはやりすぎかなと一瞬思ったのですが、春に亡くなった母との思い出でもあり、なるようになれとバルコニーをいちご畑にしてしまいました 🍓 なんか母がパワーを送ってくれているような気がして元気が出ます。

いちごの隣では空豆が育っています。空豆は冬が厳しいドイツでも2月に外に植えられる便利な植物です。オーストリアから帰ってきて、ちょっと遅れて、バルコニーでも育ちそうな背の低い品種を植えました。子供が起きたら一緒に収穫します。

空豆にもいい思い出があって、子供の頃、母がさやから豆を取り出すのを手伝っていた記憶がぼんやりあります。子供も小さい頃から手伝ってくれていて、2歳、いや写真を見返すと1歳の時から手伝っている？？・・・歩き始めて間もない頃からもう豆の皮むいていたのか w

野菜以外では、コミュニティガーデンのために花も育てています。ミニひまわりとルピナスです。種を直接まいても多分大丈夫だったのですが、間違って抜いてしまったり、他の植物を上から植えてしまいそうで、苗を育てることにしました。

ひまわりは祖父母と一緒に育てた思い出の花で、ルピナスは、子供の絵本を扱うクレヨンハウスの創業者の落合恵子さんが『ルピナスさん』という本を勧めていて、子供と一緒にこの本を何度となく読んで大好きになりました。今晩寝る前に久しぶりに『ルピナスさん』を読もうかな。

花といえば、トマトが！トマトが花をつけました！今年は冬の終わりから春にかけて忙しく、トマトの苗を種からうまく育てられなかったのですが、バルコニー用に育てていた野生のミニトマト「ワイルドアルゼンティーナ」ががんばってくれそうです。

ミニトマトというかマイクロトマトは収穫までの期間が短いので、トマトファンの私は楽しみで仕方ありません。子供もトマトが大好きで、空豆の写真を探していたら、マーケットでトマトをにぎりしめて大喜びする写真も出てきました。
