Alcancías. |Piggy banks.

Estas alcancías las vi en la tienda donde solía ir a trabajar. Son asombrosas y llamativas, a primera vista parecen hechas de cerámica o vidrio. Los ojos, según me dijo una amiga, son de los que llaman de seguridad. Aunque tú no lo creas éstas son plásticas. Las alcancías están hechas para romperse una vez se hayan llenado, se usan para guardar dinero y al estar muy llenas se rompen, se saca el dinero y ya deben ser desechadas. Los precios de estas alcancías deben ser bajos por justamente esta razón. Yo no había visto nunca alcancías en forma de gato, me gustó mucho.

I saw these piggy banks in the store where I used to go to work. They are amazing and eye-catching, at first glance they look like they are made of ceramic or glass. The eyes, a friend of mine told me, are what they call safety eyes. Believe it or not, these are plastic. The piggy banks are made to break once they are filled, they are used to keep money and when they are too full they break, the money is taken out and they must be discarded. The prices of these piggy banks must be low for just this reason. I had never seen piggy banks in the shape of a cat before, I liked it very much.
