The Wild Dog

One of the best days of our honeymoon for me was the day we visited the wild cat rescue sancturary at Mabalingwe. And although the wild dog may not be a cat (Obviously) there were
some rescue wild dogs that we got to say hi to and visit while they got fed their lunch.

Wild dogs are very social animals and live in packs. So very similar to domesticated dogs, being very social and needing company. However, please do not think about having a wild dog as a pet, they are called wild dogs for a very good reason, they are good and fast hunters, competing with lions. So no matter how cute they are, leave them in the wild! (But enjoy these photos I managed to capture)

I also love that just like giraffes spots, the wild dogs coat are 100% unique, like our finger prints. They also make the strangest noises, I could not imagine hearing their high pitched whines and growls in the pitch dark, it is bone-chilling. They also run incredibly fast and can keep a steady pace for a long period of time, which ends up making their prey exhausted.

I hope you all enjoyed my photos of these (not so friendly) doggos!

.nice photos. is this not a hyena? O.O
We don't have these wild dogs in Canada. Can they be domesticated or stay pretty much wild? This is a great set of photographs showing this wild species.
No, they are very much wild animals. Not anything like domestic dogs and not a good idea to try to domesticate them. They are quite dangerous even though they look adorable and friendly😄🐶 We saw them in the rescue center, but you could see them in the wild game reserves like the Kruger Park as well.
They're wonderful and unique looking creatures, and I hope they can recover from endangered status.
