Burnedale Bistro
A real gem of a spot, we spent time with family on our road trip to Ballito and they took us to this beautiful hidden restaurant spot. We stopped by Burnedale Bistro for breakfast on a warm Sunday morning in 2022. Such a truly lovely relaxed morning, even being a busy family filled restaurant, it was incredible.
The spot is not exactly in Ballito but is a short drive away so a perfect weekend outing for the whole family.
There were such awesome little shops and small goodies to buy and take something home with you!
The family (and most importantly) dog friendly restaurant is nestled in and amongst trees and nature and has a farm of farm animals for your kiddies (or adults) to feed carrots and scratch noses while you wait for the fantastic food to be brought out!
This gorgeous cow was truly showing off for me, I showed up to the fence and when he spotted my camera he moved his head and posed and gave me all the angles for me to photograph.
How awesome does this cow look in black and white. Such a beautiful animal.
A little girl skipped up next to me to feed this happy horse a carrot, the horse was the happiest out of all the animals. I love a horse snout... nose? A horse nose. Have you also heard about horse therapy? I have always been in love with horses, they are such majestic and incredible animals and if I had the money would 100% have a farm with all the horses. I am also not an incredible people-person, always been better with animals, so I would of course opt for a therapy session with a horse over a human.
The donkeys were loving all the kiddies attention as well.

We came across a weather rock. My favourite forecast is that if the chain is broken then there is a chance of either a tornado or a theft.
Just some more photos of my favourite close up portraits of these beautiful animals. The emotion in their eyes is incredible!
All in all we had a fabulous morning of animal-loving and cow portrait shoots, sunbathing, amazing iced coffees and great food as well as super-friendly staff. Go visit Burnedale Bistro with your kiddos, it is such a great place.
When leaving we also saw a pottery studio thing in the back... so we need another visit to explore all the other crafts activities...
