The three peculiar surprises of my holiday trip.

Today is a holiday in Brazil, it's Labor Day, and my family and I took advantage of the holiday to take a small trip. We spent the last few days at a beach on the southern coast of Natal, the capital of the state of Rio Grande do Norte.

As soon as we arrived at the house we rented, we went to the beach. One of the characteristics of Pirangi, where we were, is that there are many hills and only two main avenues, one at the top of the district and another at the bottom. Yes, it is a very small place, but it has its charm.

On the way to the beach, I came across something I had never seen before mushrooms in horse poop. The poop didn't seem to be completely dry; if I had to guess, I would say that it had been no more than five days since a horse had passed by and left its mark, especially considering the sunny days in Pirangi. However, one thing I must admit is that the mushrooms were really beautiful.

When we arrived at the beach, we were surprised that there weren't many people, even though it was a holiday. But we didn't complain, after all, we had the beach practically to ourselves.

As I walked on the sand, I found many small jellyfish. Every ten steps or so, I saw one. I had never seen so many jellyfish in one day before, without a doubt it was the second peculiar thing I found on the same day. I took pictures of some of them.

They were really small; here you can see the size of one compared to my hand.

I thought it was somewhat dangerous for them to be there, especially for children. After all, they burn if someone steps on or touches them, I just don't know how much and I didn't want to find out.

After walking for a while, we reached the point we wanted, where the river and the sea meet. That's why the water has this greenish hue. The sea in the Northeast has warm temperatures for almost the entire year, so it was very relaxing to be in the water, especially in this part where the sea has river-like characteristics and almost no waves. I enjoyed it a lot.

And just when I thought nothing else would surprise me, I found this beautiful spiral-shaped shell. In fact, I found three of them! But before I could take a picture of all three together, I lost two, unfortunately. When I saw it, I just remembered Fibonacci.

Nature is truly perfect. I was happy that all the surprises I had that day involved nature. That made the trip incredible.

Hoje é feriado no Brasil, é Dia do Trabalhador e minha família e eu aproveitamos o feriado para fazer uma pequena viagem. Passamos os últimos dias em uma praia no litoral sul de Natal, a capital do estado do Rio Grande do Norte.

Assim que chegamos à casa que alugamos, fomos para a praia. Usei a palavra "descer" porque uma das características de Pirangi, onde estávamos, é que existem muitas ladeiras e apenas duas avenidas principais, uma na parte de cima do distrito e outra na parte de baixo. Sim, é um lugar muito pequeno, mas tem seu charme.

No caminho para a praia, me deparei com algo que nunca tinha visto: cogumelos em cocô de cavalo. O cocô não parecia estar totalmente seco; se eu tivesse que adivinhar, diria que fazia no máximo cinco dias que algum cavalo passou por ali e deixou sua marca, principalmente levando em conta os dias de sol em Pirangi. No entanto, uma coisa que devo admitir é que os cogumelos estavam realmente bonitos.

Ao chegarmos na praia, ficamos surpresos por não haver muitas pessoas, mesmo sendo feriado. Mas não reclamamos, afinal, tivemos a praia praticamente só para nós.

Enquanto caminhava na areia, encontrei muitas águas-vivas pequenas. A cada dez passos eu via alguma. Eu nunca tinha visto tantas águas-vivas num dia só, sem dúvida foi a segunda coisa peculiar que encontrei no mesmo dia. Tirei fotos de algumas.

Elas eram realmente pequenas; como você pode ver em uma das fotos em que comparo o tamanho com a minha mão.

Pensei que fosse um tanto perigoso elas estarem ali, principalmente para crianças. Afinal, elas queimam caso alguém pise ou as pegue, só não sei o quanto e nem quis descobrir.

Depois de caminhar por um tempo, chegamos ao ponto que queríamos, onde o rio e o mar se encontram. Por isso a água tem esse tom esverdeado. O mar do Nordeste tem temperatura morna durante quase todo o ano, então foi muito relaxante ficar dentro da água, principalmente nessa parte em que o mar tem características de rio e quase não tem ondas. Aproveitei bastante.

E quando eu achava que nada mais me surpreenderia, encontrei essa linda concha em formato espiral. Na verdade, encontrei três delas! Mas antes que pudesse tirar uma foto das três juntas, perdi duas, infelizmente. Ao vê-la, só lembrei de Fibonacci.

A natureza é realmente perfeita. Fiquei feliz de que todas as surpresas que tive no dia envolviam a natureza. Isso fez a viagem ser incrível.
