Hello everyone,

I am Ainun. I grew up in Rasulpur, a small village in Dinajpur. Currently, I am a first year student at Dhaka University. I love reading books, listening to music and traveling. I also have a special passion for cooking.

My dear friends, how are you? Hope all of you well by the grace of God. I also quite well.... Today I have a new post for you about one of the most beautiful campus in Dhaka University..That's obviously Kalabhavan..

March 12, 2025. I was a bright sunny day. I set off towards the campus for class. As soon as I passed the rows of bookstores in New Market and Nilkhet, my eyes fell on the familiar arch of Dhaka University. "Mukti o Ganatra Toran" written in big letters.

On the other side of the arch, in the VC premises, on the side of the road, red double-decker buses were standing. BRTC was written on them. These are basically student buses. These buses are used to carry students who come from various distant places in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, such as Mirpur, Uttara, Gazipur, Savar, Narayanganj, Jigatola, Cantonment. For this, students do not have to pay any separate payment. It is used for the convenience of students, which is another benefit only for students of Dhaka University. Yes, as a student of Dhaka University, I also take this benefit.

There is a small structure in the VC premises called "Smriti Chirantan". It was originally established to preserve the memory of all the students and teachers who were killed by the Pakistanis in 1971.

In front of VC chottor is Kalabhavan which is one of the most wonderful campus in Dhaka University.. It is mainly for the faculty of arts. There are many departments in Kalabhavan. Among them, there are about 25-26 departments including History, Philosophy, Bengali, English, Arabic, Urdu and Linguistics. There are also IBA Department and FBS Department.

On the other side of Kala Bhavan is the Central Library of Dhaka University. Apart from this, there is a sculpture called Aparajeyo Bangla in Kala Bhavan. It is basically a sculpture in memory of the Bangladesh Liberation War. Also, among the other beauties of Kala Bhavan is the Mall Chattar. It is a small place for students to rest and discuss other subjects related to studies. There is a small lake in front of the mall. I have always liked dogs and cats a little more. So, I captured a picture of a dog lying quietly and having fun in front of the lake.

Also, inside the Kala Bhavan is the Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU). It is one of the symbols of the democratic consciousness and liberation movement of Bangladesh. In front of it is a canteen called "Madhur Canteen". On March 25, 1971, the founder of this canteen, Madhusudan De (Madhu), was martyred after being brutally attacked by the Pakistani army. This canteen has been named "Madhur Canteen" in his memory. Tea, biscuits, pudding and other light meals are available here. My friends and I ate pudding here.

Kala Bhavan has always been a favorite campus for me. In the busy city of Dhaka, I often run to this beautiful campus to get a little touch of nature, unlike the noise pollution and traffic jams of road vehicles. The rows of old, nameless trees around, the blue sky, the chirping of birds around, the rows of red buses lining the side of the road, the colorful flowers seem to attract me again and again. It reminds me of the tireless efforts of the admission time. How many nights have I stayed up, how many nights have passed and it has become morning, but my syllabus is still not complete. Still, I dreamed, I did not stop dreaming. Finally, I smiled the smile of success. I was able to conquer Dhaka University. That's why I fall in love with this campus every day. I love you so much, Dhaka University💕💕

thank you for showing us your University. It was a nice place, there was a lot of trees, flowers and it is not crowded. Thank you for sharing the history in each faculty and your canteen history. History really important as it gives idea to someone about culture, traditions, success and mistakes
