Growing in Difficult and Challenging Times / Kali x IW3_MA_2 (English/Spanish)
These have been challenging days in my country, but thank God we’re still alive and getting our daily work done. We definitely have to work hard to reap the rewards of success. I have these Kali x IW3 seeds—that’s the name I gave them. That’s why I had to germinate new seeds from this strain to try to get a female plant.
At the end of March, I planted new seeds; on March 29, the Kali x IW3_MA_2 sprouted. Of all the plants that germinated, it was the only one that survived. On April 29, I did its first transplant. At first, I noticed its growth was a bit slow, but when it started growing more a few weeks later—I imagine because I applied a little worm castings as a foliar spray—it began to grow better, but it hadn’t revealed its sex yet. About two weeks ago, it finally showed its sex, and fortunately, it turned out to be female, so I knew it was time for its second and final repotting to move it into the flowering phase.
Before I could buy the materials to make the new potting mix for the transplant, something very serious happened: there was a double earthquake on June 24 that caused a major catastrophe in the country. Fortunately, my family and I are fine, but we felt the brutal earthquake that lasted 41 seconds, shaking my home and causing us intense distress—so many images really do flash through your mind when something like that happens.
We went through some very difficult and unsettling days with the aftershocks and the news about all the people affected, so on July 1, when the situation began to calm down a bit, I went to buy the supplies to carry out the transplant.
Here in Venezuela, we need a lot of help, since the disaster has overwhelmed the country’s capacity, and we’re in a real crisis from every perspective.
On July 5, I transplanted the Kali x IW3_MA_2, and it was a success—it’s been in its new pot for two days now and looks good. I have to check on it daily—I don’t want what happened with my last crop to happen again, when it got infested with whiteflies and the harvest was a failure, after I’d been on a winning streak for several years. So enjoy the pictures of this plant—it’s a gem because I’ve grown it before, and the first time I tried it, I really liked its flavor and effect.

Cultivando en Tiempos Difíciles y Complicados
Han sido días complicados en mi país, pero gracias a Dios nos mantenemos con vida y haciendo el trabajo que tenemos previsto cada día, definitivamente tenemos que esforzarnos para obtener los frutos del éxito, tengo estas semillas de Kali x IW3 con ese nombre las bautice aquí hablo de cómo fue ese cruce: https://peakd.com/hive-151602/@agcoeficiente10/my-new-personal-cross-experimental-germination-of-kali-x-iw3-seeds-englishspanish entonces había colocado a germinar unas cuantas desde el mes de febrero pero muy pocas se desarrollaron y la única que lo hizo en ese momento resultó ser macho y tuve que cortarla, así que tuve que germinar nuevas semillas de esta genética para tratar de que me saliera una hembra.
A finales de marzo coloque nuevas semillas el 29 de marzo nació la Kali x IW3_MA_2 de todas las plantas que germine fue la unica que sobrevivio, el 29 de abril realize su primer trasplante, note al principio el crecimiento un poco lento y cuando semanas despues empezo a crecer mas, imagino porque le coloque un poco de humus de lombriz de forma foliar empezo a crecer mejor, pero no mostraba su sexo, hace como 2 semanas por fin mostro su sexo y afortunadamente resulto ser hembra, asi que ya sabia que le tocaba su 2do y definitivo transplante para pasarla a la fase de floracion.
Antes que comprara el material para hacer la nueva mezcla de sustratos para el trasplante, sucedió algo muy grave y es que hubo doble terremoto el 24 de junio que causó una grave catástrofe en el país, afortunadamente mi familia y yo estamos bien, pero pudimos percibir el brutal terremoto que duró 41 segundos estremeciendo mi hogar y que nos causó una angustia muy fuerte, de verdad se te vienen muchas imágenes a la mente cuando eso pasa.
Vivimos días muy complicados e incómodos con las réplicas y las noticias de todas las personas afectadas, así que el 1 de julio cuando se empezó a calmar un poco la situación fui a comprar el material para poder hacer el trasplante.
Aquí en Venezuela necesitamos mucha ayuda ya que el desastre sobrepasó la capacidad del país y estamos en una auténtica crisis desde todo punto de vista.
El dia 5 de julio realice el trasplante de la Kali x IW3_MA_2 y fue exitoso ya tiene 2 dias en su nueva maceta y luce bien, tengo que estar revisando a diario no deseo que me suceda lo del cultivo pasado que se me infecto con moscas blancas y la cosecha fue un fracaso, después que venia con una buena racha durante varios años, asi que disfruten de las imágenes de esta planta que es una joya porque ya la he cultivado y la primera vez que la probé me gusto mucho su sabor y efecto.
