Boulangerie Bon Matin

COFFEE PITSTOP & A 5-HOUR WALK

I don’t know why but I woke up and decided to walk all day, lol. I think I was feeling energetic and the weather was great, so I figured why not. I ended walking for five hours, taking a 45 minute break in between to sip on some good coffee.

In the past month or so, I’ve been doing daily walks, long ones, as well as doing some intermittent fasting. As a result, I’ve actually achieved my weight goals an entire month ahead of time. I was targeting late September / early October for the results, but I’m already there. Sometimes I impress even myself with how much will power I have when the stars align. Yet, sometimes, I have zero will power.

I walked across the north and central borough of Camden and Harringay, checking out such neighbourhoods as Finsbury Park, Holloway, Angel, Islington and so on. It was in Finsbury Park, for nostalgias sake, that I decided to take the pit stop for a brew.

There are so many cafes in the Finsbury Park area that it always takes me ages to decide when I’m there. I picked Boulangerie Bon Matin simply because of the colourful chairs outside and the fact that it was situated perfectly for people-watching. It’s situated right next to Finsbury Park station - the new exit in the gentrified part.

The coffee was well priced and tasted amazing. The staff were also pretty cool, even though I didn’t actually interact with them much beyond ordering my coffee, but I could tell they were quite cheerful. It always adds to the ambience.

I used to visit this area a lot back in the day. That’s where I used to go get a hair cut. The whole area has changed a heck of a lot since then. Some of the grimy backstreets are still there, but judging by the scaffoldings and construction works going on in the area, they won’t be there for much longer.
