GOODBYE SUMMER

Summer is officially over 😩

I love autumn, I do, especially early autumn when the greens are transforming into yellows, oranges, reds and browns. It looks amazing in photos and I'm here for it. The early autumn temperature is actually also the most comfortable - that light jumper weather. I don't like sweating much unless I'm near the seaside.

Another thing I like about autumn is the wildlife, specifically the cycle of life. The birds on nearby pond that I've been watching since they hatched are now maturing into adults themselves who will probably have offsprings of their own next spring time.

They are so graceful and It's amazing to watch their brown and beige feathers slowly turn white. I wonder if they feathers actually fall off and get replaced or the existing ones just change colour over time. I guess I could look that up. I could also ask the caretaker of the park who seems to take a very keen interest in the birds. She's particularly protective of them against dog owners that don't appear to understand that you can't have dogs freely running around these birds, especially since it's a protected area with signs saying not to bring dogs there, or at least have them on leash.

These birds obviously get fed a lot. The slightest sight of a human brings them swimming bye, expecting food. That's terrible for life in the wild, of course, but since they're not really in the wild, they'd be ok I guess. There are signs saying not to feed them, but people can't help themselves. It's ok to feed them seeds and bird food, but bread is so bad for them, but that's the most popular thing people bring to the park to feed them. It really affects their health negatively and some have even choked apparently.

Pigeons are different ball game. They will eat anything and everything and be absolutely fine. They are flying rats for all intents and purposes haha. They are in league with chickens, pigs and human beings with the variety of garbage they consume.

Talking of consuming garbage, I've been spending more time at MacDonalds lately. I haven't actually eaten there, lol, but I've been having coffee there because I really love the colourful interior. There is a particular yellow wall I like to sit by. I also use it for backdrop for product photography now and again. People must wonder what I'm doing half of the time but, hey, each to their own.

I like the colour so much that I am now thinking of getting a big wooden slap and painting it that colour to use as a backdrop at home. That way I can also do video. I can't shoot video at MacDonads - too much noise, especially now that the students are back in full force.

Anyway, the year is now winding down and we are entering what we call Q4 in the business world. This is when the spending frenzy begins. As a content creator and a product review person, this is when we start to make some of the investment back. Hopefully some of the work I've done over the down time (Q2&3) will pay off. Mind you I feel I haven't done enough since I've been held back by some other projects that were non-income generating. Oh well.

Anyway, again, happy Autumn to the northerners, and congratulations to you in the south. Spring is upon you :)
