Visiting the historic castle of Birjand from the Safavid period
Hello friends, this is a historical place from the Safavid era, a historical castle located in the middle of the city of Birjand as a historical place to visit.
Birjand Castle is the largest and oldest historical building in Birjand
It is located on the highest western hills of Birjand
Its area is 3000 square meters and it was built in the Safavid era and it is the core of this city, although some people attribute its construction to earlier times.
The interesting thing about this castle is that it is made of clay, mud, and wood, and it protected the people from enemy invaders, especially the Turkmens.
And today it has been completely renovated
According to the available evidence, it was connected to important points of the city such as Baharestan Citadel, Kolah Ferangi Citadel and Qaseh Aqueduct through underground routes.
It has 7 towers, 6 of which are left
We took some photos outside this castle and I have prepared these photos for you today
It was interesting to see this castle in the middle of the city
A beautiful and historical castle
We arrived there at night
Now that I saw the picture of this castle on Google, I realized that there used to be houses around it, but when we were there, the surrounding area was full of trees, and it looked like there was pollen around the castle park.
Because the castle is on a high level, you have to climb quite a lot of stairs to reach it, and I was a passenger and I was a little tired, but it was worth it to climb the stairs and witness such an artistic and beautiful building up close.
Of course, in the old days it was used as a fortress and there were mostly guards inside to protect the city
I really enjoy seeing the historical buildings and I am surprised to see all the beauty and splendor of how these buildings were built with such style and grandeur in the old days, not only here but all over the world.

We arrived at night and it was not possible to visit the inside of the castle, so we took photos from the outside of the castle
