My indoor plants

There are only two months left until the end of 2025. The weather is, let's say, crazy for some gardening issues; as far as I'm concerned, there are two extremes: lots of heat and sun, or lots of water; it has rained very heavily.

In my previous post, I mentioned how the rain had damaged some of my plants, especially the peperomias. These plants have very fleshy stems and cannot tolerate excess water, and their stems and roots can break and rot, especially if we add more soil and cover their stems, so putting them in the window and exposing them to a lot of rain almost killed them.

Of the three, one was saved, one is improving, and the other definitely died. The one I know was saved has some very long branches, and I am supporting them a little with sticks. One with lighter leaves is sprouting and showing that it is adapting to its new environment. As for the watermelon peperomia, it died. I hope to be able to get another one and see if I can finally get results.

Of my three indoor jades, two are beautiful, which tells me that the window where I placed them is the right one. The one I have indoors looks a little ugly, so I think I'll place it next to the others for a while to see if it improves. It's true that I take it out to get some sun three days a week, but it looks sad, as if it's not growing.

On the other hand, one of my calatheas is struggling to adapt. It hasn't grown very well, so I'll also move it to another spot to see if it looks better, and then put it back in my setup, since I like having plants in this space. However, I think it doesn't get much sunlight there, and that affects it. Although it has some leaves, its growth has been very slow.

On the other hand, the corrugated-leaf coleus plant I had in the hallway looked unhealthy, but it died very suddenly, which makes me think it could have been the result of a pest such as mealybugs or ants, so I should check the soil before planting anything else there.

As I mentioned in the first paragraph, the weather has been crazy. Some days it has been horribly hot and the sun has been relentless, but then on the same day, at the end of the afternoon or after midday, there may be a torrential downpour, or suddenly it may start to rain in the early morning and the weather may be cloudy all day. so depending on the plant, it can be good or bad, but without a doubt, plants react differently to rainwater. It's magical to see how everything changes, so I'm grateful when the plants receive water from this natural source.

In the next few days, I'll be on vacation and will do some activities at home. I also hope to take the opportunity to give some plants some TLC and carry out some projects that could include more indoor plants.

In closing, gardening always keeps us busy and we are always monitoring our plants, plus ideas for projects involving plants, which I think are excellent decorations, pop into our minds. That concludes my participation in November Garden Journal Challenge Is Here!

Solo quedan dos meses para que termine el 2025. El clima está, digamos que, alocado para algunos temas relativos a la jardinería; en lo que a mí respecta, hay dos extremos: mucho calor y sol, o mucha agua; ha llovido muy fuerte.

En mi publicación anterior hice mención de como las lluvias había perjudicado algunas de mis plantas sobre todo las peperomias, estas plantas al ser de tallo muy carnoso no soportan los excesos de agua y sus tallos y raíces pueden partiste y podrirse, sobre todo si les agregamos más tierra y tapamos sus tallos, así que ponerla en la ventana y que recibiera muchas lluvias casi la mata.

Realmente de las tres una se salvó, una va mejorando y la otra definitivamente murió. La que sé salvo tiene algunas ramas muy largas y las estoy sosteniendo un poco con palos de altura. Una de hojas más claras va retoñando y mostrando que se adapta a su nuevo ambiente. En cuanto a la peperomia sandia, murió. Espero poder adquirir una aproximadamente y ver si por fin logro resultados.

De mis tres jades de interiores dos están hermosos esos me dice que en la ventana donde los coloque es la adecuada, la que tengo más en interiores luce un poco fea, creo que la colocaré junto a las otras por un tiempo para que mejore, es cierto que la saco a tomar sol uno tres días a la semana, pero luce como triste es como si no creciera.

Por otro lado, una de mis calatheas está luchando por adaptarse, no ha crecido muy bien, también la colocaré en otro especio para ver si toma mejor aspecto, para luego colocarla de nuevo en mi setup, ya que me gusta tener plantas en este espacio, pero creo que allí no llega mucha luz del sol y eso la afecta, aunque se ve que trae algunas hojas, pero su crecimiento ha sido muy lento.

Por otra parte, la planta cóleo de hojas corrugadas que tenía en el pasillo se veía desmejorada, pero murió de forma muy repentina, lo que me hace pensar que pudo ser producto de una plaga como cochinilla u hormigas, así que debo revisar el sustrato antes de sembrar algo más allí.

Como les mencione en el primer párrafo el clima ha estado de locos, unos días ha hecho un calor horrible y el sol ha estado inclemente, pero puede ser que ese mismo día al final de tarde o luego del medio día caiga un torrencial aguacero, o de pronto comienza a llover en la madrugada y el clima todo el día es nublado, así que dependiendo de la planta puede ser bueno como puede ser malo, pero sin duda las plantas reaccionan diferente ante las aguas lluvia, es mágico ver como todo cambia, así que agradezco cuando las platas reciben agua de esta fuente natural.

En los próximos días estaré de vacaciones y haré algunas actividades en casa. Espero también aprovechar para darle un cariño a algunas plantas y materializar algunos proyectos que podrían incluir más plantas de interiores.
