Benches in the enchanted garden

Years ago, and I am talking about more than ten years ago, my mother was in charge of some community projects, that left us with satisfaction, because some repairs were made to areas of our community that really needed it and also some disappointments, because there are never lacking those who speak from ignorance, but things were achieved for the community and my mother also achieved some things for her magical place.

This magical place I am referring to, was what my grandmother used to call the enchanted garden, there my mother at some point had many plants, either in pots or tables, but she spent many hours there and although she also attended and had plants in other gardens there was let's say her place to work with and for the plants and even used it to protect some of them from daring hands.

I don't remember that before this management of which I spoke at the beginning, there was something to sit there, but I presume that she talked to the workers, since she was very good at making friends, and managed to get them to make a couple of benches, let's say rustic, because they are made with highway fences that were filled with cement to give it more strength and logically to be able to sit.

I remember that my mother would sit there and transplant, and also that sometimes I would sit there with her and talk. Remembering this fills me with nostalgia, because since her death the place has changed a lot.

One of the reasons why I have almost no plants there anymore is that it is very humid and almost no sunlight enters the place. This would be ideal for some plants, but not for all of them. There also next to those benches is the compost, to which by the way I have to add material.

In one of those benches are the bottles in which I have collected water, which I use to water the plants on weekdays during the dry season, since I can only water them on weekends with a hosepipe.

In the other one I currently have two plants: a creeper and a calathea which is the mother of all the ones I have at home and the most beautiful one because it even bears fruits. As for the atmosphere in this place, it is very quiet. Many of the cats usually go to sleep in this space because of the peace and tranquility of the place.

Another curiosity of this space is that this is where I usually have close encounters with my neighbors, the opossums, since they use the fences to climb up and down, plus they love to eat some of the leftover fruits and vegetables that I leave in the compost. In addition, there is an accumulation of dry leaves in this area, which is why there are tarantulas, as well as snakes and other insects that are part of the diet of these beautiful marsupials.

I usually visit this place to transplant or when I want to add substrate to my plants, since I can do it more calmly there. The truth is that it is a very quiet place where you can breathe peace. So I say goodbye to my participation in WEEK 6 - The Hive Garden QOTW (Question of the Week) 🌱 🌿 3 May

Así me despido de mi participación en WEEK 6 - The Hive Garden QOTW (Question of the Week) 🌱 🌿 3 May

I was happy to hear that your mother brought some plants, etc., to enhance the beauty of her garden from where she got them in the community. You mentioned your grandmother, who is no longer in the world. I am very sorry for her. Your grandmother also played an important role in making your surroundings beautiful. Even now, from what I have seen, your garden is very beautiful and green. I also planted some plants, including guava and lemon, in my garden yesterday, and I will soon share an article about it in the same community. This not only adds to the beauty of the garden, but we can also get vegetables for our kitchen from it.
