5 años en esta blockchain. El 12 de marzo del año 2018 recibí una notificación en mi correo electrónico con los últimos pasos para crear mi cuenta @acont. Y ese fue el comienzo de esta aventura en la Web 3. Nunca imaginé que 5 años después aún seguiría utilizando el username “acont” para muchas de mis actividades en la web, incluyendo las redes sociales tradicionales, las cuales florecieron prácticamente a causa de Hive. En su momento, pensé que “acont” sería simplemente otro username más de los tantos que había registrado en aquellos tiempos donde las páginas para obtener ganancias por internet habían empezado a florecer.

Entrar al mundo de la Web 3 me ha permitido conocer e interconectar con personas maravillosas que también hacen vida en esta nueva filosofía del internet. Hasta no hace mucho, el término Web 3 era extraño o poco conocido para mí. Cuando nació Hive, muchos empezamos a tomar consciencia de que esto no era solamente una plataforma exótica o excéntrica en algún rincón de todo el internet sino que más bien es pionera de una nueva filosofía que podría convertirse en el futuro del internet o parte importante de él.

Hive ha sido para mí la posibilidad de expresar el talento y creatividad humana dentro de un ecosistema que, precisamente, más allá de la tecnología que hay detrás, es muy humano. Sabemos que las recompensas no deberían ser el foco principal, sin embargo, son una manera muy efectiva de atraer a nuevos usuarios.

En los últimos días, mi actividad en Hive se ha reducido de manera muy importante, además de que vengo realizando Power Down desde inicios de Enero. El motivo de la reducción de mi Stake en Hive lo explicaré en un próximo post. No estoy abandonando Hive ni nada por el estilo, aunque quizás de ahora en adelante mi actividad acá puede que no sea tan frecuente como alguna vez lo fue. Siempre tuve como meta llegar a ser delfín alcanzando los 5000 Hive Power (HP). Y aún lo tengo como meta.

El Stake (Hive Power) es parte vital del ecosistema de Hive, razón por la cual siempre se aconseja acumular la mayor cantidad posible debido a los beneficios a largo plazo que otorga. En 5 años, mi actividad en Hive me permitió acumular un Stake bastante provechoso para alguien que vive en un país como Venezuela. Aunque deseaba mucho conservarlo y aumentarlo, vi la oportunidad de aprovechar mi Stake para realizar un cambio importante en mi vida.

Hive cambia vidas. Podrá tener ciertos aspectos no del todo “alegres” o quizás a veces pueda parecer injusto, pero no se negar que en una balanza lo positivo es mucho más. No sé qué sería de mi vida sin esta plataforma, dado que, aun siendo Ingeniero Civil, mi principal fuente de ingreso desde que me gradué ha sido Hive. En Venezuela, nunca pude obtener un empleo como Ingeniero, y quizás pude haberlo conseguido si ponía todo mi esfuerzo en ello, pero por alguna razón muy dentro de mí sentía que no era para mí, no veía un futuro muy prometedor haciendo dicho esfuerzo, y que yo podía hacer más que trabajar como ingeniero en Venezuela. Yo no me veo a mi mismo como “el ingeniero”, me veo como alguien que podría ser un excelente ingeniero, pero que además de eso podría hacer y vivir de otras formas, como, por ejemplo, escribir y crear contenido en Hive, entre otras cosas.

Hive contribuyó de manera muy importante a hacerme ver el mundo de manera muy diferente a como lo veía al momento de graduarme, en 2019. La pandemia inició inmediatamente después, es decir, fue un cambio radical en mi vida pasar de estudiante de ingeniería a ingeniero desempleado y sin experiencia laboral en cuarentena, cuya vida en Hive apenas iniciaba. En los 3 años de pandemia aprendí muchas cosas y mi perspectiva del mundo cambió radicalmente. No tengo planeado abandonar Hive, nunca. Tengo muchas ideas en mente para compartir en la blockchain de Hive y seguir llevándola al mundo.

In the 3 years of pandemic I learned many things and my perspective of the world changed radically. I have no plans to leave Hive, ever. I have many ideas in mind to share on the Hive blockchain and continue to take it to the world.
