White Swans

My country has a long history of "giving birth to a ton of retards". Nor proud to be a Romanian in that regard. There was once a story, a true one, unfortunately, from the early '90s with a group of Romanian gypsies who literally caught a bunch of swans from a park lake in Vienna and ate them...

Sad, right...

We've evolved a bit over time and we no longer eat swans :)). They know that and that's why they come to live on the lake here during wintertime. For over a decade now there are a few white swans, hopefully, no black ones any time soon ;) that have decided to make a home from our lake during winter.

They usually come sometime around October-November, depending on the weather, and stay here until the beginning of spring. It's not the same number of them every time. Sometimes there are just two of them and other times it's a dozen of these white swans.

This year we have about six white ones that came already to the lake. We don't know if there are more coming, but we're happy to welcome the ones that have arrived. I've noticed them on the lake a few days ago and today I managed to take a few pics of these beautiful creatures.

I took a round of pics in the morning when they were fed by some lady at a restaurant and a bunch of them when they arrived close to my home.

These guys are not shy at all, they come pretty close to the shore but they only do that if they feel like there's some food for them. Otherwise, you will only see them gently swimming a few tens of meters away from the shore.

Oh and... the first two pics contain no swans, just the view of my town from a different angle than usual. That's about it for today. I hope everyone is having a great day and see you next time.
