Today I once again learned how to drive... Funny, right? I have my drivers license for over 20 years and I've done it the wrong way all the time. It's so simple, though...

You just don't have to push the pedal to the metal every damn time you get out driving.

Yes, I'm not talking about actually learning how to drive in here, but rather about doing that without using a ton of fuel a year and aging the car prematurely.

It all started about a week ago when I checked the specs on my old car on the internet. I was amazed about the fuel economy some were getting with newer models and I wanted to see "how bad" mine was.

On paper it's not that bad. It should eat about 7.4 litters of diesel per 100km in town, 5.5 average and 4.4 on the highway. The best I got was 5.8 and that was on a long trip, I usually have something like 7-7.5 during summer but since I changed my driving style I got to the record of using 5 litters per 100 km.

I was simply baffled when doing the math after refilling. I almost couldn't believe it... Add to that the fact that I'm driving safer and also saving the car from too many visits to the repair shop.

I have to say that diesel prices played an important role in making me reconsider my driving too. It's on a discount now but nevertheless so damn expensive wheneverything got spicy as hell.

I will from now on spend less on diesel and enjoy the ride more, since I changed my driving, I promise ;).

But what about the pics for this post? Well, my car is not that beautiful and I had to upload something nice. Wish you all a great weekend and see ya tomorrow.

Thanks for your attention,
Adrian

Lolol! You got to keep it easy bro, always under 2k rpm and it's better you learned it later than never. I avoid potholes and rough road, sticking to the portions that don't have the traffic marks. I drove from Columbus OH to Kansas Ottawa, and we had to use the pennies from the cupholder to fill up the last 60miles there, I was getting about 28 mpg for my friends '03 G35.
