Beans With Pork and Mulled Wine

Yesterday we, the Romanians, celebrated our national day. I had a post on @liketu already detailing a bit about the festivities and our national day, and now I’m sharing with you guys what I ate last evening while celebrating the day.
I don’t know how beans and pork became the traditional national day food, but who am I to change that? Last night I went to the restaurant and ate some of that traditional food and had some mulled wine as well so I can say I celebrated the day “the Romanian way”. I haven’t drunk alcohol for a few months now, but I felt like having a drink yesterday, thus some mulled wine made a lot of sense 😃.
The food was good but not the best I have ever eaten, it lacked salt imo. Either that or I’ve just become a salt addict cuz I had to add quite a bit of it.
Oh, and if you’re wondering what’s with the napkins photo?
Well, red, yellow, and blue are the colors of our flag and the waitress “bothered to have these napkins arranged” as if they were some sort of Romanian flag.
I didn’t stop for that nicely painted cup of wine that you see in the pic, though. The restaurant closed at 22:00 and after we “got kicked out” we headed to another one that was open till 00:00. I had a couple of beers there too, and no regrets, but now I have a bit of a headache. I’d blame the mixed drinks for it…
That’s no reason for me to skip my gym training and hopefully, the pain will go away. Overall we’ve had a nice national day celebration yesterday and I really enjoyed it. Time to take a nap now. I wish you all a great day and see you next time.
Thanks for your attention,
Adrian

You really had a great time for the national day, so for the national day it's beans, in our country everything revolves around pigs on a spit, although beans can also be found during the celebration of grozđembala (grape harvest days)
Greetings from Vršac
