Stereum versicolor
The Artist of Natural Colors – The Story of a Unique Mushroom Taken in the Morning

Nature sometimes creates things that make us stop and think. One such moment I picked up my camera one beautiful morning, when dewy air was filled with a strange peace. Just then, I caught sight an extraordinary mushroom growing base tree. Its color, structure, and hue were so beautiful that in instant, it felt like it was work art painted by nature itself.

This mushroom looked round, with petal-like layers arranged one above other. The outer edge was light brown, while middle part was a shiny dark brown color, shining like polished wood. It seemed shine even more in soft morning sunlight. Seeing such a scene, I could not hold myself back; I took few pictures with my mobile phone in my hand but a whole collection.

The picture was taken near my room. Many types mushrooms grow here after the rainy season ends. But this mushroom was different from others. Its deep color, shiny surface, and round shape are an example natures perfect geometry. Many call it Ganoderma Reishi mushroom, which is traditionally known for its medicinal properties. Although I was simply fascinated its beauty at that time.

The mushroom was surrounded by wet soil, some stones, and a touch of green leaves. This whole scene was like a reflection of a small forest. Through camera lens, I could see how color mushroom also changed when angle light changed—sometimes brown, sometimes reddish, and sometimes sparkling black. This play natures colors was truly touching.

This picture reminds me that beauty can be found in the most ordinary places base an old tree, next a stone hidden behind a grass. We often overlook these small wonders in the rush our busy lives. But if we stop for a moment, nature reveals its wonderful form before us.

This mushroom photo has a special place in my photography collection. Whenever I see photo, I remember fresh morning air, the dewy smell, and the silent beauty nature.
Nature teaches us patience attitude enjoying simple life and beauty. This mushroom taught us just such a lesson—even though small, every soul, every creation, hides a unique story within itself.
