Candid Portraits of a good friend- Monomad Challenge

“Words dazzle and deceive because they are mimed by the face. But black words on a white page are the soul laid bare.”
― Guy de Maupassant

Hi everyone. I hope you all are fine. I am fine too. I have taken some random, raw, unprepared and candid photos for you. This is my entry to the #monomad challenge.

This is my entry photo for the contest. These two are very close friends of mine. They are with me since my school days which is way back in 2009. I cherish their company a lot. That day was Eid day, we decided to go on a road trip. This is a handpump where we stopped to get some water. Handpumps are a very common source of water here. How many of you know about handpumps?

I took a solo picture of him. His name is Mairaj, a very kind and sophisticated guy. He lives in another city now because of his job, but he comes here on Eid to meet his parents and us in our city. We try to relive our childhood memories together.

The water drops make it look really aesthetic in black and white.

This guy used to be my academic rival I remember back in our days in school. We used to be great friends out of school, but staunch rivals when it came to taking position in the class. I so happy for him now that he is doing well for himself.

He is the only son of his very old parents. He has been trying to convince them to shift with him, but they are so much connected to their roots. It bothers him a lot. Because of the stress, he has lost a lot of hair. The other day, he told me that he might even quit the job in other city. I told him to avoid that thought and try to convince his parents in a comprehensive way.

This is a good memory of us together. We used to be great friends and now we do not get to meet so frequently. I am happy that I captured this moment with a really close friend of mine. It looks amazing in black and white. Black and white should be the color of feelings and resonance. It has this depth that cannot be put into words.

This is my self-portrait. I have this very common yet different face. My friend played a song that I love the most. It arouses such lovable feelings in me.

Thank you so much for your time. I hope you liked the pictures. Do share your views in the comments section below so that we can learn and grow together. Take care of yourself and have a great day ahead. Do not forget to follow my account for more such content.

PS: The pictures are mine taken with my Google Pixel 5 and edited using the Adobe Literoom app.

I’ve never seen a hand pump. I was hoping to get a full picture of it. Your pictures look really nice. Black and white really makes it stand out
