Blog Diaries #1 : Mt. Naupa, City of Naga, Cebu
So for today's blog I'm going to share with you our little quick escape in Mt. Naupa, City of Naga, Cebu well it's not my first time, I did visit and hike here two times in year 2020 and probably this is my third visit in Mt. Naupa but this time is memorable nature trip for me it is because I'm with my boyfie.
Days ago, before the day we go on a hike in Mt. Naupa, my closest friend dm me, she invited me to come with them including my boyfie for a hike in Mt. Naupa and of course, as a girl who always say yes for a nature trip, I did come with them also my boyfie ( a man who supports me when it comes to nature trips, I love him so much ).
cutiee 💋
On April 17, 2025, this is the day we go hiking in Mt. Naupa, we woke up early at 5:00am and drove a motorcycle on the way to Cogon, City of Naga and parked the motorcycle there and start walking up the hill. The morning air was so refreshing, I realized that I should be walking up early and go out for a morning air and one thing we forgot is to do some stretching for our muscles won't go numb but anyways, we hike for one hour and thirty minutes, the sweats were relaxing, the heartbeats are racing even our leg muscles starts numbing.
In the middle of hiking, we saw a violet chilli, we're shocked because it is our first time seeing a violet one.
It's already 7am and we can feel the hunger inside our stomachs after we got into a small sari-sari store we stopped there and eat our breakfast. We've shared foods and drinks and after eating we relax a bit, freshened up and continue the hiking until we reached our destination.
While walking, I stopped and mesmerized by the beauty of green scenery, it's like a little Switzerland but a friend slightly pushed me, he is making fun of me and then I tipped off, I thought I was gonna fall off the cliff but I did not, luckily the phone that is on my hand didn't break, but but there's a but haha, my boyfie grab the phone and took a video of me while I was begging for him for me to stand up because I was out of balance still I managed to stand up without anyone's help. He took video before he thinks of helping me but ahhh nevermind!
Before we took pictures at the place, we planned to stop under the mango tree, assemble the camping tent, and chillax. In the place that were staying, there's an unfinished carpentry worked by an old man. The winds are blowing, birds are chirping, nice scenery perfect for meditating. At the place that we're staying, an old man came to finish his work and we also share our foods to him. At 12 noon, we decided to eat our lunch and of course sharing of foods and drinks, sharing different stories, had a conversation and then laughed at each other's jokes.
Meanwhile, As I watched my friends busy with their phones,I put my phone down, I layed down, let my mind free from thoughts, do the inhale and exhale, and letting myself escape from the reality, reality? hahaha
and then realization hits....
I realized that the beauty of life is just simple, that life is never complicated, that being alive is really we can be grateful for. We spend too much time on our phones that we even forget to live in the present, to become present but we choose not to, in the reason of we're busy doomscrolling in our phones that we also forget that the person we texted or messaged I miss you is just sitting or laying next to us but because of being busy on our phones scrolling through different social media apps we forgot how to live in the present. Scrolling endless, double tapping, reading fake news, started being insecure because of what we see in our feed. We started questioning our way of living, our body type, questioning "Why I can't be like them?" "Why I don't have the life that they have?" "Why I am just like this?"the answer will just be found in our ownselves. If we stop comparing our self from the internet, we become more happier and contented of what we have right now, we start feeling grateful about what we received and become more self aware because being insecure about other people's lives, our life will be complicated because we are appreciating most of other people's lives on the internet instead of appreciating of what's with us, of what we have right now. I was once like them but being grateful is the most and easy way that I have in order to make myself happier and contented. I started appreciating life, giving thanks to God for letting me experience the life he gave, for experiencing the beauty of life, the beauty of what he created just like nature. What a privilege to be alive, a privilege to experience everything good in this earth, realizing that most of my answered prayers is happening but sometimes I don't I forget that's already existed, that's already happening because of I am more focused on the things that I don't have I didn't notice it that it was my prayer because I focused on what I don't have which is wrong, we must focus on what we have right now and also being grateful of what's coming. Live in the present and go where you feel most alive.
After that, we decided to take some photos in the place, we took beautiful and nice pictures, endless capture moments haha. It was fun and memorable nature trip, the place where you can go with friends, family and of course if you want to go alone, you can go just by yourself. Hiking alone is just okay, where you can get together with yourself and free your mind from all the negative thoughts. After that we decided to go home and when we reached the place where we parked our motorcycles I observed that everyone is exhausted and satisfied about the trip we have that day. So, guys if you're planning to visit the Mt. Naupa in Cogon, City of Naga, you can always visit there because they're always open.

Luh violet chillies? This is my first time seeing one even in pics...Been reading a lot of nice reviews about the nice sceneries of Mt. Naupa—but being the homebody I am, my laziness really strikes when exploring other places...I mean it's just in Naga, but still I haven't tried hiking there. Btw, thanks for sharing, yiehhh I'm glad you enjoyed its beauty with your special someone!
