Small creatures - eng/esp

With the good weather that has been happening these days, it was well worth going back down to the coast in search of more hermit crabs, the small ones that abound in the pools that fill up with the tides. These ones that I took as a sample, interrupting their daily territorial and home-seeking struggles, turned out to be more timid than the ones from last time. It seems that the legend of the giant that pulls hermits out of their puddles has spread among them. I had to wait longer than usual to see them come out of their shells so I could take pictures of them. So I opted to turn their little houses upside down to force them to come out faster when the heat of the sun hit them. I think the new technique paid off, because I had new angles to photograph them that I hadn't tried before. At the end I show you the average size of these little animals, in the palm of my hand. Using a macro lens without the possibility of stacking focus on these moving targets makes me concentrate only on the peculiar eyes and leave the other details with the brutal blur that this type of lens provides.

Con el buen tiempo que ha estado sucediendo estos días, bien valía la pena volver a bajar a la costa en busca de más cangrejos ermitaños, de estos de los pequeños que abundan en los charcos que se llenan con las mareas. Estos que cogí de muestra, interrumpiendo sus diarias luchas territoriales y de búsqueda de vivienda, resultaron más tímidos que los de la otra vez. Al parecer se regó entre ellos la leyenda del gigante que saca ermitaños de sus charcos. Tenía que esperar más tiempo del acostumbrado para verles salir de sus conchas para poderles hacer fotos. Así que opté por poner sus casitas boca arriba para obligarles a salir más rápido cuando el calor del sol les diera. Creo que la nueva técnica dió sus resultados, porque tuve nuevos ángulos para fotografiarles que no había probado antes. Al final les muestro el tamaño promedio de estos animalitos, en la palma de mi mano. Usar un lente macro sin posibilidad de hacer stack de foco a estos blancos en movimientos hace que me concentre solo en los peculiares ojos y dejar los demás detalles con el desenfoque brutal que este tipo de lente provee.
