Week 33, 2024: Door / Puerta
I found this severely damaged artifact on one of the streets of Old Havana. Its doors definitely have something to tell. I don't know the fate of the driver, but I do know that to deform the steel used in the automobiles of those times an enormous force had to be applied. It wasn't for nothing that they called them "yanks tanks" back then.

Encontré este artefacto severamente dañado en una de las calles de La Habana Vieja. Definitivamente sus puertas tienen algo que contar. No sé el destino del conductor, pero sí sé que para deformar el acero utilizado en los automóviles de aquella época había que aplicar una fuerza enorme. No en vano los llamaban entonces "tanques yanquis".

Week 34, 2024: Rule of odds / Regla de los impares
I went outside my house and cut these blades of grass. I put them against a black background and illuminated them with my external flash. B&W conversion, contrast, highlights, all in Adobe Camera Raw. Done!

Salí de mi casa y corté estas briznas de hierba. Los puse sobre un fondo negro y los iluminé con mi flash externo. Conversión de blanco y negro, contraste, luces, todo en Adobe Camera Raw. ¡Hecho!

Week 35, 2024: Rule of thirds / Regla de los tercios
My neighbor the hummingbird made me wait two hours for her three-second visit, she perched to clean her long beak of pollen on our string, as is customary. Several shots at her and that's it. Little editing, noise reduction in Adobe Camera Raw. Green background provided by our banana trees.

Mi vecina el colibrí me hizo esperar dos horas para su visita de tres segundos, ella se posó para limpiar su largo pico de polen en nuestro hilo, como es costumbre. Week 36, 2024: Blue hour / Hora azul
You can see some warm tones at the top of that cloud in the background, but they were the death rattles of a dying Tuesday. My friend Ivis agreed to be my accomplice for this adventure. We took many photos at golden hour, waiting for this sunset. The urban horizon left us this little piece of sky for this pose, and I took advantage of a puddle left over from downpours prior to this session. I used a Beauty dish and my Godox AD200. Edited the sky on Adobe Camera Raw's wonderful masking feature, almost anything else was done here.

Se pueden ver algunos tonos cálidos en lo alto de esa nube al fondo, pero eran los estertores de un martes agonizante. Mi amiga Ivis aceptó ser mi cómplice en esta aventura. Tomamos muchas fotos en la hora dorada, esperando este atardecer. El horizonte urbano nos dejó este pedacito de cielo para esta pose, y yo aproveché un charco que sobró de los aguaceros previos a esta sesión. Usé un beauty dish y mi Godox AD200. Edité el cielo con la maravillosa función de enmascaramiento de Adobe Camera Raw, casi más nada se hizo aquí.
