The Lion Zealer.

Good day to you all.

It’s an epic marathon on the LeoFinance Zealy campaign on Hive. I never believed I would be a part of it until I found it myself. Now I think I got so addicted to the campaign. Hopefully, if I put in more effort I would be able to achieve some nice position at the end of it.

I love the new UI and the friendly threads going on the interface. Though still yet to be perfected, to some level I appreciate their hard work, commitment, and consistency.

In response to my task to be accomplished in the quest as -CYOA - The Artist. We are to draw or design the image of a Lion interacting with the LeoFinance and Zeally Logo then post it in a favorite art community.

Since my submission happened on a Sunday, I decided to submit my artwork here in response to the Creative-Sunday. It wasn't an easy task but accomplishing it was what matters most…

Let’s journey on how I get to draw my artwork

TOOLS

  • PENCIL
  • DRAWING BOOK

STEP BY STEP

STEP 1: Sketching of the mane and the head

The first thing to do when it comes to drawing is sketch what you want to draw and the reason is that when you make sketches, it is easier to correct your mistakes since it's not permanently drawn, it's just like some light outline of what you want do if you have some wrong feeling about the drawing you can easily erase without affecting the drawing book.

So the first was to sketch out the mane and the head. It looked a little easier. But I guess maybe it was just the head and not the face.

STEP 2: Sketching the body

After getting a sketch of the head, the body was the next part to draw. I believe the head gave me an insight on where to start the rest of the body and I would know how to handle the space I have left not to have a long body or a fat body.

STEP 3: Sketching the hands

The hands came after because the body and head gave room to the hands. Nothing wrong in going for the hands first, but the body gave it a better chance of fitting in.

STEP 4: Sketching the Logos

The next was to sketch out the Zealy and Leo Finance logos. It wasn't that hard because it was just like the letter z. But placing it on the hand was where the problem lies. I gave it a shot and it worked fine.

STEP 5: Sketching lions face

Here we come, the face is the hardest part of a drawing it can surely disfigure the whole drawing. So it has to be properly drawn. The sketch was okay to some extent.

STEP 6: Tracing

Now the sketch is complete, the next thing is to give it some thickness to display better. And that’s proper tracing. Tracing is what would show and display the real artwork.

STEP 7: Tracing the body and Tail

I started tracing from the body and tail because the face and head require more attention than the body.

STEP 8: Tracing out the Zealy Logo

The next was the Zealy Logo. It was easier than expected.

STEP 9: Tracing the LeoFinance Logo

The Leo Finance logo gave me a tough time because it was just like the face of a lion embedded with a shield. The shield was easily traced but to give a nice trace to the lion part was not that easy, the mane and the face. The tracing came out fine in the end.

STEP 10: Tracing the face

Now onto the hardest part, the face. In the face, drawing the mouth, nose, and ears was easier. But completing it with the eyeball is the real deal. The eyeball would say a lot about the image. The direction of the eyes must work in line with the face. I was able to give my best, though it still came out somehow. but manageable.

STEP 11: The Mane

The mane was just way easier, giving it some direction and a soft sketch. It was done.

STEP 12: Adding some shade and shadows

I added some shade to the legs and some parts of the waist, this is because of the lion's fur, and since I didn’t have to color it, I just gave a light shading on those parts. And on the Zealy logo, I gave it some shadow color so it could come out real.

FINALLY, MY ARTWORK IS COMPLETED

Hehe.. from One point of view its looking funny but at the same time it's looking very good from another point of view.
I think it would be more funny if I draw the same thing you have drawn. I don't dare to draw it.. 😅.
