Another week again with the Zealy campaign on leofinance. Hehe. The lesser the countdown, the more interesting it gets. Just less than 6 days to the end of the campaign. It’s never later than never, you can still do well to join the moving train and partake in the amazing quests.

In response to my task to be accomplished for the quest as -CYOA - The Artist Now at the final stage and about to slay the boss… Not an easy task at all. We are to draw/design the image of a powerful Lion that just defeated a final boss.

Let’s journey on how I get to draw my artwork

STEP BY STEP

STEP 1: Sketching of the Mane

The first step was to sketch the Mane. I started from this part because it would give me a perfect angle to position all the other parts of the body I want to add to the artwork.

STEP 2: Sketching the arm

After sketching the mane, the next thing I had to do was to sketch the arms.

STEP 3: Sketching the body

After getting some space for the arms then I decided to sketch the body and it completed the available space.

STEP 4: Sketching the hands

I knew the hand and face would take a lot of attention. So I left them to be the last thing. Yet getting the left hand wasn’t cool. I felt it needed some correction. But at the sketching stage, it could be corrected when tracing.

STEP 5: Sketching the face

The face wasn't that scary to sketch but at some point, I realized I need to be careful if not the look would remain useless.

STEP 6: Sketching the arm muscles

The arm muscles were the next thing to be done. Doing that should bring a nice look like a well-gymed lion.

STEP 7: Sketching the body muscles

The next sketch was the body muscles too. And that came out pretty cool for me. Even from a little distanced angle.

STEP 8: Sketching the thigh muscles

Nothing much here. Just to finish up the sketching.

STEP 9: Sketching the mane and face border

After all, I got to sketch the face again and the mane. This was to give the face the expression of a winner.

STEP 9: Sketching out a few corrections and amendments

I realized I made a mistake on the left hand that wasn’t as perfect as I wanted it. So I made it look a little better.

STEP 10: Tracing

Now the sketch is complete, the next thing was to give it some thickness to display it better. And that’s proper tracing. Tracing is what would show and display the real artwork.

The first part of tracing was the mane also.

STEP 11: Tracing the arms

After that, I traced the arms just like I did with the sketches.

STEP 12: Tracing out the body

Then the next thing was to trace the body.

STEP 13: Tracing the arm muscles

After the body, the next thing was tracing the muscles and the arms came first.

STEP 14: The body muscles.

The next was to trace the body's muscles. That was a little difficult because it has to display the looks of a lion's pac. And not just an ordinary body.

STEP 15: Tracing the face

Finally, I got to the face as expected. At this point, I was much more careful and made sure I tried not to tamper with the sketch while tracing. In the end, it brought a good result.

STEP 16: Adding some shades and shadows

It's time to give it some finishing. The shades were made at some parts of the body to give it that energized look and it even brought about the pacs and the muscles too. That was way cool. I was happy after the completion.

STEP 17: Give the mane its hairy look and some final touches

In between the mane and the face are some edges that need to be completed. I added some line shades to the mane to make it look hairy and the face to give some final touches.
