Bangkok's Best View: An Evening at The King Power Mahanakhon

The King Power Mahanakhon is a must-see destination for anyone visiting Bangkok who enjoys high-rise buildings. As the city's tallest building, it offers unparalleled views of the city from its observation deck on the 74th floor.
An evening trip to the Mahanakhon is a truly magical experience. The sun sets over Bangkok, casting a warm glow over the city as the bright lights of the buildings and streets come to life. To make the most of this experience, it is recommended visiting the observation deck around 4:30 pm to avoid large crowds.
The lifts that transport visitors are fast and equipped with full Samsung OLED panels all across the lift. They project animations about Thailand and it takes less than 50 seconds to reach the 74th floor with a speed of 480m/s (South East Asia’s fastest elevator).
One of the highlights of the observation deck is the glass floor, which offers a unique perspective of the city below. As you walk on the glass, you'll feel like you're suspended in the air, with nothing but a clear view of the city below. It's a thrilling experience and not recommended for people who are faint-hearted.
In addition to the observation deck, the Mahanakhon also has a rooftop bar on the 77th floor, where visitors can enjoy a drink and take in the views. The bar offers a unique vantage point for watching the sunset and is a perfect place to unwind after a day exploring the city.
If you're interested in visiting the King Power Mahanakhon, ticket prices for adults cost THB 880 over the counter. Alternatively, you can book online and receive some discounts. I got my tickets through the "Klook" app with an additional promo discount when I paid through GrabPay. The total cost was RM 181.85 (THB 1,390.81, exchange rate as of writing). I hope you enjoy the photos that I took during my visit with @joannewong and that you'll plan a trip to the Mahanakhon soon!
