By a long shot, I'm going for the cabin in the woods. Maybe it's because I've lived longer in a mountain environment than a beach environment. Cabins in the woods will have various soothing wild noises, you may be surrounded by exotic animals. At the same time, the trees provide insulation from noises outside the forest. So the predominant sound of the pine trees cut by the breeze will have the most decibels.

The idyllic beach house appeals to me a lot, but in order to be convinced in this selection, I have to focus on the disadvantages of it. I'm sure others will have more visibility of what does or doesn't happen in my house. And you have to accept the issue of having a lot of light from very early in the morning until very late in the evening. There will be fewer animals that one can have and also adapt to the climate and location.

My cabin will provide warmth with its fire on the coldest days. Even if the forest has gray or rainy days, it would have spaces for entertainment, rest and of course satellite TV and internet. The acoustics of being surrounded by a wooden structure and furniture will be an ideal refuge when the insects come out at dawn and dusk.

Besides, I will be more eager to attend to my guests. What do I mean? If I have a house on a beautiful beach, I am sure I will have many people who will want to visit me, but will they do it for me, to visit me, or just to go to the beach? Surely for both, but let's be honest: won't many do it for the beach? But whoever goes through the forest to get to my cabin... why would they do it? Why would I do it, for the silence, the rest and the peaceful surroundings? Maybe, but isn't it easier to imagine going there for the people? For me yes, and that would have much more value, because I'm not the best person in the world. So love is paid with love. So sure we would share tasty meals, pleasant conversations, tasty treats, activities in front of the cabin, tasty snacks, short walks, did I mention tasty food already?

"Welcome to my cabin!" sounds great.
