I confess, there are some days when I wake up with the intention of walking to the countryside or to the mountains, these are places that I have nearby and it is easy for me to reach them; but it is very frequent that the "streets seduce me" and then I end up wandering in them and taking pictures, forgetting completely about the countryside and the mountains... I don't know, there is something about street photography that I find fascinating and I wouldn't know how to explain it well...

Lo confieso, hay algunos días en los cuales me despierto con la intención de caminar hacia el campo o hacia la montaña, son lugares que tengo cerca y me es fácil llegar a ellos; pero es muy frecuente el que las "calles me seduzcan" y entonces termino deambulando en ellas y haciendo fotos, olvidándome por completo del campo y las montañas... No sé, hay algo en la fotografía callejera que me resulta fascinante y no sabría explicar muy bien...

Then, when I look at these photos, I understand better why I forget about everything and dedicate to scanning the streets trying to steal with my camera every possible image... And this is especially true when I start to look at the scenes and think of them in black and white. Because as a photographer, you develop a special instinct to recognise the things that say more and look better in black and white; this is something that happens as soon as the picture is taken, not after... Or at least that's how it happens to me with street scenes...

Luego, cuando miro estas fotos entiendo mejor el porqué me olvido de todo y me dedico a escudriñar las calles procurando robar con mi cámara cada imagen posible... Y esto es algo especialmente cierto cuando comienzo a mirar las escenas y las pienso en blanco y negro. Porque uno como fotógrafo, desarrolla un especial instinto para reconocer las cosas que dicen más y que lucen mejor en blanco y negro; eso es algo que sucede desde que se dispara la foto, no después... O cuando menos así me sucede a mi con las escenas callejeras...

I call this mental visualisation of the black and white image as my "pre-editing"; moreover, it is very often the case that the title of the photo is also born at the moment when I look at it... There is a lot of instinct in taking photos in the street; with the pass of time one begins to behave a little strangely and one can almost say that one hears voices talking about photos happening or about to happen... That's how entertaining it is.

Llamo a esa visualización mental de la imagen en blanco y negro mi "pre-edición"; además, es muy frecuente que el título dela foto también nazca en el momento en el que la observo... Hay mucho de instintivo en hacer fotos en la calle; con el paso del tiempo uno comienza a comportarse de manera un poco extraña y casi se puede decir que se escuchan voces que hablan de fotos sucediendo o por suceder... Así de entretenido es esto.

_{ADDITIONAL TECHNICAL NOTE: Photographs captured with my Nikon D7000 DSLR camera in RAW format, then processed in Adobe Camera RAW for adjustments regarding light, sharpening, contrast and depth... They were then exported to JGP format on which minor modifications such as straightening and adding watermarks were carried out using PhotoScape 3.6.3.}
