La apuesta - Fotografía de Teatro || The bet - Theater Photography [ESP-ING]

Muy pocas veces veo la fotografía de teatro con la intención de hacer el revelado en blanco y negro, sin embargo, tengo claro que las imágenes desaturadas tienen un poder increíble, dentro de su contraste reflejan muchas emocionales. En esta oportunidad me di el permiso de experimentarlo, me centré en la acción de las escenas, en el movimiento de los personajes y en la iluminación, mientras visualizaba las fotos sin color.

Very rarely do I look at theater photography with the intention of developing in black and white, however, it is clear to me that desaturated images have an incredible power, within their contrast they reflect a lot of emotion. In this opportunity I gave myself the permission to experiment it, I focused on the action of the scenes, the movement of the characters and the lighting, while visualizing the photos without color.

El mundo del teatro es fascinante, en la medida que los actores van desarrollando sus personajes, sus gestos y expresiones detonan el obturador, así, de esta forma trato de capturar los mejores momentos y la esencia de la obra. Por lo general, el objetivo de fotografiar la obra es representar en cada captura los momentos más emblemáticos de la obra. Una de las ventajas de la ausencia del color es que se suprimen las distracciones y se aprecia únicamente el discurso visual.

The world of theater is fascinating, as the actors develop their characters, their gestures and expressions trigger the shutter, so I try to capture the best moments and the essence of the play. In general, the objective of photographing the play is to represent in each capture the most emblematic moments of the play. One of the advantages of the absence of color is that distractions are suppressed and only the visual discourse is appreciated.

La dinámica visual que podamos representar en la fotografía toman un valor extra cuando carecen de color, a mi juicio, son más emotivas y evocan la viva esencia de la obra, sin distracciones. Esta obra en particular, la iluminación estuvo constante y uniforme, no fue tan cambiante como en otras oportunidades. Para mantener la estética visual me centro en la pulcritud de la composición y así mostrar una cuidadosa fotografía. Sin embargo, dado al constante movimientos de los actores y la poca iluminación en momentos específicos, algunas fotos no quedan tan bien técnicamente, pero resultan representativas para mostrar la narrativa de la obra.

The visual dynamics that we can represent in the photograph take on an extra value when they lack color, in my opinion, they are more emotional and evoke the living essence of the work, without distractions. In this particular work, the lighting was constant and uniform, it was not as changeable as in other opportunities. To maintain the visual aesthetics I focus on the neatness of the composition and thus show a careful photography. However, given the constant movements of the actors and the low lighting at specific moments, some photos are not as good technically, but they are representative to show the narrative of the play.

Revelar las fotos en blanco y negro, en esta oportunidad me ha brindado una nueva perspectiva artística con relación a las obras de teatro. Cada imagen representa de manera única la escena, capturando momentos que perduraran inmóviles en el tiempo, y de manera silente serán testigos de lo que se vivió en el teatro ese día.

Developing the photos in black and white, in this opportunity has given me a new artistic perspective in relation to the plays. Each image represents in a unique way the scene, capturing moments that will remain immobile in time, and in a silent way will be witnesses of what was lived in the theater that day.

Esta es mi propuesta para el reto #monomad. Las fotos han sido capturadas en la Sala del Grillo de la Corporación Cultural Atabanza, en Duitama, Colombia. Usé la cámara Canon 700D, editadas con Camera Raw en Adobe Photoshop.
