About Vaals
Vaals is a unique, vibrant gem nestled in the southeastern tip of the Netherlands, right where the borders of Belgium, Germany, and the Netherlands converge. This geographical quirk not only gives Vaals an international vibe but also makes it a fascinating spot where cultures blend seamlessly.

Home to around 10,000 residents, Vaals is the epitome of a small town with a global heartbeat. The population is a lively mix of Dutch locals, expats, and students, all drawn by its historical charm and the University of Maastricht’s nearby campus. The demographic diversity here sparks some fantastic culinary fusion, from authentic Dutch fare to more exotic tastes influenced by its neighbors.
Vaals Highlights
When it comes to highlights, Vaals is proudly parading three major attractions:
1 Drielandenpunt - This is where the fun geographical twist comes into play. Drielandenpunt is the spot where the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany meet. It's not just about standing in three countries at once; the area is surrounded by beautiful forests, making it perfect for hiking or enjoying panoramic views from the Boudewijn Tower.

2 Vaalsbroek Castle - Dive into a fairy-tale experience at Vaalsbroek Castle, which dates back to the 15th century. Surrounded by lush gardens and water bodies, the castle has been transformed into a luxury hotel. It's a hotspot for weddings and offers a picturesque escape with a historic twist.

3 The Local Cuisine - For foodies, Vaals is a delight. The town reflects its border location in its culinary offerings. You can indulge in German sausages, Belgian chocolates, and Dutch cheeses all in one afternoon. Local restaurants and cafes pride themselves on a mix of traditional recipes handed down through generations and innovative dishes that mirror its multicultural backdrop.
Vaals manages to maintain a cozy, community-focused atmosphere while offering a slice of international culture, making it a must-visit for anyone who cherishes history, nature, and gastronomy. Whether you're wandering through the quaint streets, exploring the verdant outdoors, or sampling a fusion of flavors, Vaals promises a charming and enriching experience.

Fish cold & hot
Plants for the garden
This market has a lot of small plants this time of the as it is the right month to plant a few more. Either for the smiling eyes of the boss or some even for the mice’s food.
