🕝 An Old Man Defying Time; Clockmaker 🕝 Zamana Meydan Okuyan Bir İhtiyar; Saat Ustası

There was something here that time could not dissolve. First of all, the watchmaker himself. I didn't mind the wrinkles on his face and his white hair. His eyes still gleamed like an eighteen-year-old boy.

Zamanın eritmeyi başaramadığı bir şeyler vardı burada. En başta saat ustasının kendisi. Yüzündeki kırışıklıklara, bembeyaz saçlarına aldırış etmedim. Gözleri hala on sekizlik bir delikanlı gibi ışıl ışıldı.

I was trying to figure it out when my friend's watch was being repaired. It was both a very difficult and a very easy place to understand time. But the old clocks on the shelves couldn't help me much with that. They had no batteries or tongues... Moreover, they had all stopped at five past nine in the morning. I knew why. But he would tell me himself a little later.

Arkadaşımın saatinin tamir olduğu sırada anlamaya çalışıyordum. Zamanı anlamak için hem çok zor hem de çok kolay bir yerdi. Fakat raflardaki eski saatler bu konuda bana fazla yardım edemezdi. Pilleri de, dilleri de yoktu... Üstelik sabah dokuzu beş geçe durmuştu hepsi. Bunun sebebini biliyordum. Fakat biraz sonra bizzat kendisi anlatacaktı bana.

Ondan izin alıp fotoğraf çekmeye başladım. O sırada aklına bir şeyler geldi. Bir gün genç bir kız gelmiş buraya. Röportaj yapmışlar. Sonra kendini televizyonda görmüş. Çok sevinmiş. Haberde tüm saatlerin dokuzu beş geçe durduğu vurgulanmış. Türkiye Cumhuriyeti Devleti'ni kuran liderin ölüm saati bu. Ona olan sevgi ve saygısını yaşatmış böylece.
